Challenge Training Partners

CHALLENGE TRAINING PARTNERS LLP

Working together to help prepare young people for a future in a challenging world

Challenge Training Partners have over 25 years of experience in project managing and delivering Work Related Learning, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship events that:

·      Are individually designed events to meet the requirements and constraints of those involved.

·      Are as far as possible workshop and team-based, avoiding lots of talks, lectures and plenary sessions.

·      Stimulate students, business advisers and participating members of staff alike.

·      Last anything between 3 hours to 3 days, depending on client requirements.

·      Are typically for year 7 right through to undergraduate level.

·      Help schools and colleges by strengthening their links with local businesses.

·      Offer businesses cost-effective, meaningful hands-on training for employees working as advisers with teams of students.

Working in small groups, with advisory assistance, students quickly discover and start to develop skills beyond those taught in the usual curriculum. They learn to convince and excite others about their ideas and face the practical problems and requirements of managing a business. Typically the students take part in a highly realistic and testing business simulation; a hectic marketing, design and manufacturing exercise; case studies and team-building activities.

Each event is a mixture of the high pressure and the light-hearted. They are all great fun - but deadly serious!

Activities

Taking the Initiative
A new program designed to minimise interference with the normal school timetable but at the same time to encourage youngsters to learn about the practicalities of enterprise by setting up and running their own company. They operate in a competitive environment and their decisions are used to simulate what would have happened in the real world. The results of their trading are fed back to them and they continue to run their business over a 6-8 week period. The activity is seen as a combination of occasional school time and homework and leaves the students to organise themselves to meet and make decisions. The students are exposed to many elements with which they would face in a real life situation and given opportunities to use their artistic, enterprise and organisational skills in order to maximise the returns for their business.
