About Link-Ed

Link-Ed is a not-for-profit organisation providing a link between schools and businesses across Essex, Southend and Thurrock. Through our member organisations and partners we provide planned activities and support for schools and businesses to develop and strengthen their mutual involvement.

Our delivery members have played a central role in preparing young people for working life through education and business link activities:

Challenge Training Partners
Challenge Training Partners have worked with schools and colleges for over 20 years on the challenging task of exciting young people about work and the business environment. Our advanced business simulation and interactive modules have been refined in order to achieve a wide range of objectives that meet DfES requirements as well as student and school needs.

ConstructionSkills
ConstructionSkills Education Programme plays a vital role in providing young people with a positive experience of construction in order to improve knowledge, skills and understanding and enable informed careers choices to be made.

East of England Co-Operative Society Ltd
The Education Department of the East of England Co-operative Society aims to develop a culture of Co-operation and our work with schools, colleges, the voluntary and community sector is far reaching across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. Our work with young people, and the adults who work with them, is based on our Values and Principles and is a set of co-operative learning methodologies which are inclusive and participative. We believe our methods of engagement are not only enjoyable, but truly engage and enthuse participants.

Enterprise Education Trust
Enterprise Education Trust works to bring business to life for students. Its aim is to tell them how business is fascinating, creative and fulfilling and assist their personal development by giving them the chance to develop life skills outside their normal curriculum.

Essex Education Business Partnership
Essex EBP helps schools and businesses to work together for mutual benefit. It runs a variety of programmes which support the professional development of teachers and help prepare young people for adult and working life. Programmes include the development of pupils' key skills, mentoring, promotion of social inclusion and business focused activities to raise skills and awareness of enterprise.

STEM Team Essex
STEM Team Essex operate as a focus for schools and businesses to obtain information about resources, schemes and initiatives, concerned with science, engineering, technology and mathematics. The prime task is to encourage young people to think positively about science and technology engineering and mathematics as possible future career paths.

The Enterprise in Education Partnership Limited
The Enterprise in Education Partnership is based in Chelmsford and is working very closely with a number of schools in Essex. They specialise in tailoring their enterprise programmes to meet any specific areas of interest the schools may have and working closely with the school to meet their enterprise objectives. All the programmes they currently offer are activity based and their aim is to engage the students in challenges mirroring those in the work place in an enjoyable and competitive environment.

Trident
The Trident Trust, an Educational Charitable Trust, exists to help 14-19 year olds develop employability skills and assist them to manage the transition from education to adult life through its educational programme, Skills for Life (Work Experience, Personal Challenge, Community Involvement).

Young Enterprise
Young Enterprise provides opportunities for all young people from the age of 4 to 25 years, to gain personal experience of how business works. To understand the role it plays in providing employment and creating prosperity, and to be inspired to improve their own prospects and the competitiveness of the UK.

Business in the Community is a unique movement in the UK of over 700 member companies, with a further 1600 participating in our programmes and campaigns. We operate through a network of 98 local business-led partnerships, as well as working with 45 global partners. Our purpose is to inspire, challenge, engage and support business in continually improving its positive impact on society. The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority QCA
The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) is a guardian of standards in education and training. We work with others to maintain and develop the school curriculum and associated assessments, and to accredit and monitor qualifications in schools, colleges and at work.
